Grand Officer Order of Leopold Military

The metal reduction of the Grand Officer in the Order of Leopold, military division, is a finely crafted miniature of the official insignia. This model bears the Dutch-language motto “EENDRACHT MAAKT MACHT” and is distinguished by the crossed gilded swords above the cross, symbolizing the military nature of the distinction.

The miniature features the white-enamelled cross surrounded by green-enamelled laurel wreaths, with a central black enamel medallion bearing the gilded Belgian lion in relief. Around it runs a dark red enamel ring with the motto in Dutch in gilded letters. At the top rests the gilded royal crown, accompanied by the crossed swords.

The reduction is suspended from the traditional purple ribbon, finished with a rosette with gilt and silver galloon, corresponding to the rank of Grand Officer. This miniature is worn on occasions where the full insignia is not appropriate, offering an elegant and representative alternative.
