Grand Officer Order of Leopold Military

The breast star of the Grand Officer in the Order of Leopold, military division, is made exclusively of solid fine silver (.999) and represents the second-highest grade of this Belgian order. It is worn on the left side of the chest.

The star has eight silver points with a finely detailed central field decorated with facets and elongated rays, each ending in small spherical tips. At the center lies a black enamel medallion with the gilded Belgian lion in relief. Around it runs a dark red enamel ring bearing the national motto “L’UNION FAIT LA FORCE – EENDRACHT MAAKT MACHT”, framed by gilded profiled edges and a fine pearl border.

What sets the military division apart are the crossed gilded swords behind the central medallion, emphasizing the military character of the distinction.

The reverse is equipped with a sturdy fastening pin and clasp, ensuring the star can be worn securely and stably on uniform or ceremonial attire.
