Commander Order of Leopold Military

The metal reduction of the commander distinction of the Order of Leopold, military division is a miniature of the official neck decoration. This version bears the French-language motto “L’UNION FAIT LA FORCE”.

The distinction shows a white-enamelled cross with gilded edges, decorated with green enamelled laurel wreaths between the arms. At the center is a black enamel medallion with the gilded Belgian lion, surrounded by a dark red enamel ring inscribed with the motto in French.

The reduction belongs to the military division, clearly recognizable by the crossed gilded swords above the cross. This element highlights the military character of the distinction and differentiates it from the civil version.

It is suspended from the purple ribbon, adorned with a rosette with a silver galloon, as customary for the Commander grade. This miniature is intended for occasions where the full insignia is not worn.
