Grand Cordon Order of Leopold

The Grand Cordon breast star in the Order of Leopold, civil division, is crafted exclusively in fine silver and forms an essential part of the highest class within this Belgian order of merit. It is worn on the left side of the chest.

The star measures 94 mm in diameter and features an eight-pointed radiating pattern with a facetted surface, creating a striking play of light. At its centre is a black enamelled medallion bearing a gilded Belgian lion in relief. Surrounding it is a dark red enamelled ring inscribed with the national motto “L’UNION FAIT LA FORCE – EENDRACHT MAAKT MACHT” in both national languages, framed by gilded, profiled edges and a fine beaded border.

This large model is supplied as a complete set, including the Commander’s badge, the sash, a luxury case, and the matching rosette. The reverse is fitted with a sturdy pin and clasp, ensuring the breast star can be worn securely and stably on a uniform or suit.
