Grand Officer Order of Leopold II

The miniature of the Grand Officer grade of the Order of Leopold II is a refined representation of one of the higher distinctions within this Belgian order of knighthood. This version is made of high-quality metal, finished with gilding and enamel.

The miniature cross is gilt, with a central black enamelled medallion bearing the gilded Belgian lion in relief. The surrounding dark blue enamel ring shows only the national motto in French: “L’UNION FAIT LA FORCE”. The piece is surmounted by a gilt royal crown.

The miniature is suspended from a blue moiré ribbon with a central black stripe, featuring a rosette with a galloon in two colours (gilt on the left and silver on the right) – characteristic of the Grand Officer grade.
