Grand Officer Order of Leopold II

The grade of Grand Officer of the Order of Leopold II belongs to the higher distinctions within this Belgian order of knighthood. The insignia is made exclusively of solid fine silver (.999) and is renowned for its exceptional craftsmanship and prestige.

The central element of this grade is the breast star, executed in solid fine silver with a richly detailed eight-point radiating pattern. A gilt ray cross is superimposed, surmounted by a royal crown. At its centre lies a black enamelled medallion with the gilded Belgian lion in relief, surrounded by a dark blue enamel ring bearing the national motto “L’UNION FAIT LA FORCE – EENDRACHT MAAKT MACHT” in both national languages, framed by profiled gilt borders.

The complete set includes:
- the breast star in solid fine silver
- a rosette in blue moiré ribbon with central black stripe, featuring a galloon in two colours (gilt on the left and silver on the right), characteristic of the Grand Officer grade
- a luxury case

The reverse of the breast star is fitted with a sturdy fastening pin and clasp, ensuring secure and stable wear on uniform or ceremonial dress.
