Military Cross 2nd class

The reduction of the Military Cross Second Class is the miniature version of the official Belgian decoration. It is worn on uniforms or civilian attire as a representative substitute for the full-size medal, especially when the larger version is less practical.

The miniature consists of a black-enamelled cross with crossed swords, suspended from a royal crown. The central medallion features the Belgian lion, while the reverse traditionally bears the monogram of King Leopold II. The insignia is attached to a 16 mm moiré ribbon in green with red stripes. Unlike the First Class, the Second Class is not fitted with a rosette, which highlights its simple and sober character.
