Medal for Services Rendered

The Medal for Servies Rendered (large model) is an official Belgian decoration awarded in recognition of loyal and exemplary service within the armed forces.

The large model consists of a round bronze medal, attached to a bright yellow ribbon with five thin vertical black stripes. The obverse of the medal features an upright sword surrounded by a laurel wreath, symbolising courage, vigilance and honour. Encircling the central motif is the Latin motto “Patriam protego et servio” (I protect and serve the fatherland).

The medal is worn on the uniform and has a dignified, formal design that underlines the importance of the award.
