Cross of Honour Military Service Abroad 2nd class

The Cross of Honour for Military Service Abroad 2nd Class (large model) is conferred upon service members for extended or meritorious duty abroad.

The insignia features a gilt five-pointed star, with red enamelled spheres at the tips. At the centre is a blue enamelled ring inscribed with the motto “Pro Patria”, enclosing a gilt Belgian lion.

The star is surmounted by a gilt royal crown and attached to a wide moiré ribbon: sky blue with purple edges. The 2nd Class is recognisable by the central vertical silver stripe on the ribbon, which denotes its intermediate grade.

This is the large model, worn at official ceremonies and used as a collector’s piece.
