Medal Mérite Sportif 1939 - bronze

The lapel ribbon of the Bronze Medal of Sporting Merit consists of a green moiré ribbon with a central red stripe, folded into a triangular shape. A miniature of the bronze medal, showing two athletes with bare upper body shaking hands with the inscription SPORT, is affixed to the ribbon. The whole is mounted on a metal base that slides through the lapel buttonhole and is secured at the back with a foldable fastening.

This lapel ribbon provided a modest yet recognizable way of wearing the bronze grade on a daily basis.
