War Cross 1914-1918

The large model of the War Cross 1914–1918 is an official Belgian military decoration, created to honour soldiers and volunteers who distinguished themselves by bravery and courage during the First World War.

The medal consists of a bronze cross pattée with crossed swords between the arms. At its centre is a medallion bearing the Belgian lion in relief, a powerful symbol of national pride and resistance. The cross is surmounted by a royal crown connecting it to the ribbon.

The large model of the War Cross 1914–1918 is worn on a red moiré ribbon with five narrow green vertical stripes, symbolising combat and hope.
