Description

The Africa Star is an original British World War II campaign medal awarded to military personnel who served in North Africa between 10 June 1940 and 12 May 1943. It was granted to members of the British Army, Royal Navy, and Royal Air Force who took part in the campaigns across Libya, Egypt, and Tunisia against German and Italian forces. Made of bronze-colored metal in the traditional six-pointed star design, the medal features the cipher of King George VI. The ribbon is red, yellow, and dark blue – symbolizing the Army, the desert sun, and the Navy. Some medals include a clasp (“8th Army” or “1st Army”) to indicate specific operational involvement. This medal is a genuine piece of Allied military history and a highly sought-after item among collectors of WWII decorations.
