Decoration Social Protection 2nd class

The Distinction Social Protection, 2nd Class is an official award conferred upon individuals who have distinguished themselves in the field of social security and solidarity. This grade emphasizes the social importance of foresight, protection, and community spirit, and honours those who have made a meaningful contribution to social welfare and mutual support.

The distinction takes the form of a silver-coloured enamelled cross with blue arms, encircled by a wreath of green enamelled oak and laurel branches accented with red. At its centre is a silver emblem, surrounded by a red band bearing the inscription “Voorzorg – Prévoyance”. The decoration is surmounted by a silver royal crown, underlining its official status.

It is suspended from a moiré ribbon in the Belgian national colours of black, yellow, and red. Unlike the 1st Class, the ribbon bears no rosette. The distinction is worn on the left breast, attached by the rectangular ribbon.
