Decoration Agriculture Workers 2nd class

The Distinction Agriculture – Agricultural Workers, 2nd Class is an official award conferred in recognition of long-standing or exceptional achievements in the agricultural sector. This grade honours agricultural workers whose efforts contribute to the development and strengthening of agriculture in Belgium, with respect for tradition, innovation, and social responsibility.

The distinction takes the form of a silver-coloured oval medallion, encircled by a green enamelled laurel wreath with red accents. At its centre is a silver emblem, surrounded by a black band bearing the inscription “Zedelijkheid – Bekwaamheid / Habilité – Moralité”. The decoration is surmounted by a silver royal crown and a silver lion’s head linking the crown to the medallion.

It is suspended from a moiré ribbon in the Belgian national colours of black, yellow, and red. Unlike the 1st Class, the ribbon bears no rosette. The distinction is worn on the left breast, attached by the rectangular ribbon.

This award represents a mark of appreciation for the contribution of agricultural workers to the vitality of the farming sector, and it highlights the importance of labour, morality, and competence in Belgian rural tradition.
