Decoration Agriculture Workers 1st class

The Distinction Agriculture – Agricultural Workers, 1st Class is an official award granted in recognition of long-standing or exceptional achievements in the agricultural sector. The decoration highlights the importance of tradition, innovation, and societal impact, and is bestowed upon agricultural workers who have devoted themselves in an exemplary way to the development and strengthening of agriculture in Belgium.

The distinction takes the form of a silver-coloured oval medallion, encircled by a green enamelled laurel wreath with red accents. At its centre is a gilt emblem, surrounded by a black band bearing the inscription “Zedelijkheid – Bekwaamheid / Habilité – Moralité”. The decoration is surmounted by a golden royal crown and a silver lion’s head that links the crown to the medallion.

It is suspended from a moiré ribbon in the Belgian national colours of black, yellow, and red. A tricolour rosette is affixed to the ribbon, marking the grade of 1st Class. The distinction is worn on the left breast, attached by the rectangular ribbon.

This award represents a mark of appreciation for agricultural workers whose dedication contributes to the lasting vitality of the farming sector, and it acknowledges the role of labour, morality, and competence in Belgian rural tradition.
