Medal "CSDP Operations"

The CSDP “Operations” Medal is associated with the European Union’s Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP). Under the CSDP, the EU deploys civilian and military missions and operations in support of crisis management, peacekeeping and international security. The CSDP Service Medal recognises service performed within such EU missions and operations.

The round medal features the twelve stars of the European emblem in relief. This version is intended for operational service and is suspended from a blue-gold yellow-blue moiré ribbon. The central gold-yellow stripe distinguishes the version for personnel serving in theatre from the version used for certain headquarters and support personnel, which has a white central stripe.

The medal measures 35 mm in diameter and is made of silver-plated metal. Its patinated finish enhances the relief of the twelve stars and gives the medal a classic and distinguished appearance.
