Cross of Honour Military Service Abroad 1st class

The Cross of Honour for Military Service Abroad 1st Class (large model) is a Belgian military decoration, awarded to service members who performed extended duty abroad.

The insignia consists of a gilt five-pointed star, with red enamelled spheres at the tips. At its centre lies a blue enamelled medallion bearing the motto “Pro Patria” and displaying a gilt Belgian lion.

The star is surmounted by a gilt royal crown and suspended from a wide moiré ribbon: sky blue with purple edges. The 1st Class is distinguished by the central vertical golden stripe on the ribbon, which marks the higher grade of the award.
