Civic Cross Courage and Devotion 1st class

The Decoration of the Civic Cross for Courage and Devotion First Class is a Belgian distinction awarded in recognition of exceptional civil courage and self-sacrifice. This large metal model is carefully manufactured according to the official specifications and represents a dignified example of this particular decoration.

The decoration consists of a gold-coloured Maltese cross with white enamelled arms. The central medallion bears the monogram “L” (Leopold II) in gold on a white background. Stylised laurel leaves are placed between the arms of the cross, reinforcing the symbolism of honour and merit. The cross is suspended from a gold-coloured ornamental intermediary element connecting the decoration to the ribbon.

The decoration is mounted on a red moiré ribbon with a wide central black stripe, edged on both sides with a fine yellow stripe.
